Arctic Trip

The Arctic Trip family

Roy started Arctic Trip in 2012. He has lived close to nature all his life. Fishing, hunting, picking berries and off-piste skiing in the mountains have given him a knowledge of outdoor life you cannot buy.

Roy

Owner and main guide

“Work with your heart.”

Roy’s motto

Roy was born in the countryside of Troms county and has lived most of his life there. As a child he learned from his father how to get food from nature. His mother loved cooking and passed that on to her son, something our guests can be happy about. What could taste better than fresh food straight from nature, cooked outdoors?

He loves skiing and worked as a ski instructor for ten seasons, so he is happy to teach you too. He has guided since 2007, mostly northern lights, skiing and snowshoeing, and his passion for the northern lights is easy to feel.

He is also a keen photographer, with experience in timelapse, panorama, HDR and stacked shots. Today’s cameras can even film the northern lights in real time.

Reetta

Guide

“Enjoy the moment.”

Reetta’s motto

Roy’s wife Reetta loves nature too. Hiking, skiing, birdwatching and picking berries and mushrooms are among her hobbies, and she is interested in plants.

After some years of busy city life she moved north to be closer to nature. She studied wilderness guiding in Muonio, Finland, in 2011 and 2012, and has worked as a guide since, mostly for the northern lights.
